Programme Information

Our graduate programme is designed to contribute to your development primarily as follows:
Through our customised onboarding programme, we will settle you into Santam within the first 100 days and set you up for success. You will be immersed in a series of accredited learning assets covering areas meant to anchor you in your journey of 24 months, while we expose you to the latest curated on-line content addressing our DNA embedded in five Santam core competencies.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must not have more than 1 years’ work experience and must be in possession of a degree in the following fields:

Barrs Pharmaceuticals Industries is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician/Electrician with expertise in control and instrumentation to contribute to the efficient operation of our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. As a crucial member of our operations department, the Electrical Technician will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of electrical systems and instrumentation, upholding the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical systems and instrumentation in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical components, including motors, controllers, and instrumentation devices.
  • Work as part of the maintenance and production teams to ensure optimal performance of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to enhance system reliability and longevity.
  • Assist in the implementation of upgrades and modifications to improve electrical and instrumentation efficiency.
  • Work in the Facilities and Maintenance department to address electrical and instrumentation issues promptly.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to optimize production efficiency and quality.

Desired Experience, Qualifications, and Attributes:

  • Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Technician/Electrician in pharmaceutical manufacturing, FMCG or a similar regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and PLCs.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Our team is composed of maintenance professionals who provide on-site customer service to ensure the smooth and safe operation of our equipment. We are now looking for a service-minded Maintenance Technician to provide professional elevator and escalator maintenance service to our customers.

In this role, you will be at the core of KONE - an everyday hero who makes people's lives easier. Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for customer satisfaction through quality of service and regular, proactive, and precise on-site communication;
  • Responsible for accurate and real-time back reporting of work performed;
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the customers, the contact person, and end-users on site;
  • Manage the site environment during service operations;
  • Identification of site risks, and timely communication of any such occurrences;
  • Identifying “unplanned” service repairs based on the equipment needs, contacting the on-site contact person, getting his approval if not covered by the contract, and performing them;
  • Management of PAR stock levels (shelving, inventory, stock transfer) and timely issuance of replenishment orders;
  • Submit timesheets based on the execution.

Skills & Experience:

  • One or more of the following qualifications:
  • Red seal trade test certificate lift mechanic;
  • Completed NQF level 4 certification with apprenticeship program (minimum 4 years);
  • Completed Electrical/Mechanical Engineer Diploma/Degree with completion of at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic;
  • Completed NQF level 5 certification with completion of at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic;
  • Good communication skills with basic IT skills.

We are seeking a Housekeeper at our facility Heritage Manor in the Somerset West to carry out various cleaning duties and to ensure our facility is in an orderly condition. 

(Preferably candidates from the surrounding areas - Strand, Somerset West, Gordons Bay, Grabouw etc will be considered)

Job duties include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Clean designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
  • Perform and document routine inspection activities
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects upon request
  • Ensure all walkways remain clear and free of debris
  • Notify management of any repairs required
  • Mix and dispose of all cleaning solutions appropriately
  • Follow all health and safety regulations

Experience and knowledge:

  • 3 years cleaning experience preferable
  • Excellent working knowledge of cleaning appliances and their operations
  • Knowledge regarding the proper use of cleaning/chemical agents
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills

Salary on offer from R5 000 Cost to Company per month.
